With the 5 day lockdown causing a “re-shuffle” of the Club Championships, our final round(s) were concluded on Saturday.
After 36 holes, the leading eight A Grade Gross players continued on for another 18 holes to decided the winner. In a tight and see-sawing affair, Nathan Silvey came out victorious with a 54 hole score total of 226. Our runner-up was junior member Ben McPherson on a score of 228. Nathan shot a rallying back nine of one under 35 that helped propel him to claiming back to back club championships.
Thomas Blaikie edged out Eynesbury greenskeeper Wes Greig in the A Grade Nett Division with two great scores of 68 and 75 (143) to finish one shot clear.
In B Grade, our champion is new member Seamus Nolan on a two round total of 172. Seamus set a blistering pace with a first round score of 79 and was able to stave off his nearest competitor, David Dangerfield (174), with a final round of 93. Congratulations Seamus!
Our B Grade Nett champion is Daniel Morgan, with two cracking scores of 71 and 69 (140), just holding off Mark Grundy who came a valiant second on 141. Despite the difficult stroke conditions there were some great scores in B Grade, with 5 players finishing within 3 shots of our champion.
Thank you to all members who were very understanding in regards to the the format being altered due to the lockdown, hopefully our next Club Championships will run a lot smoother once we are out the other side of this pandemic!!
